OK everybody knows I'm a huge chocolate lover...but aren't we all? Get ready to nourish yourself while taming any chocolate cravings. Made without refined sugars, dairy, or preservatives. And here's where everyone loves me ...chocolate is good for you! It has been known to stimulate serotonin, the feel good neurotransmitter in your brain. It is also rich in antioxidant compounds with many health benefits. It contains resveratrol, antioxidants, and is a good source of magnesium. (Make sure the chocolate you eat is 72% or higher cacao and dairy free.)
As far as sweeteners, you want to be sure you choose your sugars carefully. Since the glycemic index is the standard measurement used to rank how fast blood sugar levels rise after we drink or eat a particular type of beverage or food over two three hour period of time, raw coconut nectar is a great choice to use as a sweetener. You guys know I love my Stevia but sometimes in certain recipes Stevia doesn't blend well or...
Sometimes it can feel like you are doing everything right yet you can’t seem to
get rid of that extra bit of body fat. When it comes to getting lean, what you eat
and how you exercise is just the surface level. Your body's hormones play a
major role in your ability to get lean. Your body has so many different
hormones, and if these hormones are out of balance your body can start to
store extra fat. Due to a stressful lifestyle, crash diets, and exposure to toxic
chemicals on a daily basis it’s extremely common for women to have all their
hormones out of whack. Here are 4 of the most common hormones that will
make your body store extra fat.
If you suffer from weight problems, then it could be very likely you have an
insulin imbalance. Insulin is the hormone that tells our body how to store
energy, which if it’s out of whack, it will tell the body to store energy as fat.

¼ cup organic peanut butter
¼ cup semi sweet chocolate chips
3 TBSP coconut flakes
Peel and slice bananas into half inch slices.
Place a large piece of wax paper or parchment paper onto a cookie sheet. Lay half of the banana slices on the sheet.
Using a small spoon, spread 1 teaspoon of peanut butter on each banana slice, and top with a second banana slice. Insert a toothpick into each banana "sandwich" and freeze for 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, heat semi-sweet chocolate chips in a pot over low-medium heat. Stir constantly as the chocolate melts, and remove from heat. Option to either dip the bananas in chocolate or drizzle chocolate on. Then either roll in a bowl of coconut flakes, or sprinkle flakes on. Freeze for at least an hour. Remove from the freezer 5 minutes before serving.
Want beautiful, glowing skin? Here are my top strategies that I work with my clients to achieve…
1. Eat and Drink for Beautiful, Glowing Skin
The foods we eat on a daily basis are the building blocks for glowing healthy skin. An anti-inflammatory, hormone balancing diet does wonders.
- Eat vegetables at every meal- Incorporating antioxidant vegetables (leafy greens and cruciferous veggies in particular) at every meal is the best way to balance hormones, detoxify the body, and nourish the skin. Once you do this for a month, it becomes a habit- and loading the veggies in at every meal becomes natural.
- Eat healing fats, avoid toxic fats: Toxic fats like canola, soy, vegetable, and corn oil are highly inflammatory to the skin. Most restaurants cook with these oils, and processed and packaged foods are full of them. Healing fats like coconut oil, avocado, and olive oil are extremely healing to the skin. Try incorporating healthy fats with your vegetables at every meal.
- Avoid gluten,...
