Why Greens?

As a species, we THRIVE on plant foods AKA greens. But don't let that scare you. Follow the Adding In or Crowding Out theory that I use with my clients to get more live food into your daily meals and reap the health benefits. The theory is simple, focus on adding in more good stuff versus eliminating. When we focus on adding in we create more of what we can have versus lack. Win!

But what kinda greens are we talking about and what's so special about them?

First, a substance that is found in all plants is Chlorophyll. It acts as a blood detoxier, which helps increase circulation to all your organs. It does this by dilating blood vessels and it is also a natural deodorant helping to reduce body orders and freshen breath. Wow, two in one...can’t beat that!

Also, plants have tons of nutrients in them including calcium, iron, protein and antioxidants. Did you know that super green foods are the only vegetables that can help animals maintain their weight, strength and good health even if it is consumed alone?

And just when you thought it couldn't get any better, plants help boost our immune system. Bottom line is super greens are one of the greatest things you can do to your body and are the most natural way of getting everything your body needs to function and be healthy.

But do plants taste good? Sure! While super green foods come from young cereal grasses like wheat, barley, rye, alfalfa, oats, kelp, and chlorella which may sound as if I'm asking you to eat yard clippings, I have a tip and trick for you! I like to call it a little extra insurance in case you are not eating all the plant foods in a day that would be ideal. I start everyday with Amazing Grass https://www.amazinggrass.com in chocolate flavor. There is a berry flavor too that kid's seem to love. (I do not promote any specific supplement or product just letting you know what I like and what works for me and my palate:) Leg Up Farmer's Market and even the local grocery stores organic sections are well versed in these products and in a variety of brands.

So go out there and start eating more greens, after all you want to be healthy right? Spread the word...the answer to most problems is not kale lol but pretty close!
